medisun PDT 9000 is an innovative light treatment system for painless exposure of photodynamic therapy (ADL-PDT/artificial daylight therapy) with polychromatic spectra from a high-performance LED light source. The main indication is actinic keratosis (white skin cancer), in which a steady increase has been reported worldwide. Actinic keratoses are a preliminary stage of skin cancer, which can usually be traced back to excessive sun exposure in the course of life, e.g. in outdoor occupations. That is why the professional associations have recognized actinic keratosis as an occupational disease for many professions. In these cases, patients have a lifelong claim to the reimbursement of treatment costs.

the medisun pdt systems, which have been used in his clinic for a year and what special advantages the medisun PDT systems offer.

Conventional red-light PDT has been established for many years because it has proven to be very effective. However, the therapy protocols used are associated with great pain for the patients. With the outdoor daylight PDT with natural sunlight, an alternative therapy protocol was developed that contains all wavelengths of light and is significantly less painful. However, the actual irradiance and the spectral composition of the light depend on some uncontrollable factors, such as the season, time of day, temperature, geographical location and weather conditions. In certain weather conditions, e.g. below + 10 ° C, the outdoor daylight PDT cannot be carried out at all or the effect cannot be calculated or reproduced. In addition, sun protection must be applied.However, the outdoor daylight PDT is considered to be less painful than the conventional red light PDT.

The new multifunctional medisun PDT 9000 with PC control represents the consistent further development of the outdoor daylight PDT and the red light PDT and offers an optimized treatment procedure with generally painless exposure. medisun PDT 9000 uses programmable multicolor high-performance LEDs. These can produce monochromatic and polychromatic light mixtures. The newly developed medisun PDT therapy protocol enables painless exposure with an optimized daylight spectrum with an exposure time of just one hour, which is just as effective as conventional red light PDT. This has now been confirmed by a published clinical study by Prof. Dr. Thomas Dirschka and Prof. Dr. Rolf-Markus Szeimies. The effectiveness and freedom from pain during exposure was also confirmed by a clinical study by Prof. Dr. Hans Michael Ockenfels (Hanau).

Thanks to the programmable PC control, medisun PDT 9000 remains future-proof, regardless of which light spectrum will be important in the future. By using medisun PDT 9000 it is now possible to carry out the painless PDT exposure planned throughout the year in your practice. Medisun PDT 9000 is equipped with a three-dimensional radiation field around the head. Single or multiple lesions (field cancerization) up to the entire head can be treated individually and homogeneously in one exposure process. Excellent therapy results are continuously achieved with excellent tolerability.

All medisun products are developed and produced in Brühl near Cologne. The medisun systems are certified as medical products in accordance with Directive 93/42 / EEC by TÜV-Rheinland LGA Products GmbH. Medisun PDT systems are already in use in many university clinics and dermatological practices.
