medisun PDT 1200

medisun PDT 1200 is an innovative light treatment system for painless exposure of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with polychromatic spectra from a high-performance LED light source. The medisun PDT 1200 is therefore the ideal complement to the medisun PDT 9000 or for treating areas from approx. 350 cm². The main indication is actinic keratosis, in which a steady increase has been reported worldwide. Actinic keratoses are a preliminary stage of skin cancer, which can usually be traced back to excessive sun exposure in the course of life, e.g. in outdoor occupations. That is why the professional associations (IN GERMANY ) have recognized actinic keratosis as an occupational disease for many professions. In these cases, patients have a lifelong entitlement to payment of the treatment costs.

Professor T. Dirschka talks about UV therapies and their benefits, as well as about the development in the field of photodynamic therapy, especially about pain-free exposure and the possible applications with the medisun PDT systems.

Professor R.-M. Professor Szeimies talks about his experiences with
the medisun pdt systems, which have been used in his clinic for a year and what special advantages the medisun PDT systems offer.
Conventional red light PDT has been established for many years because it has proven to be very effective. However, the therapy protocols used are associated with great pain for the patients. In certain weather conditions, e.g. below + 10 ° C, the outdoor daylight PDT cannot be carried out at all or the effect cannot be calculated or reproduced. In addition, sun protection must be applied. However, the outdoor daylight PDT is considered to be less painful than the conventional red light PDT.

The new medisun PDT 1200 represents the consistent further development of the outdoor daylight PDT and the red light PDT.medisun PDT 1200 uses programmable multicolor high-performance LEDs. These can produce many monochromatic and polychromatic light mixtures. The newly developed medisun PDT therapy protocol enables painless exposure with an optimized daylight spectrum with an exposure time of just one hour, which is just as effective as conventional red light PDT. This has now been confirmed by a published clinical study by Prof. Dr. Thomas Dirschka and Prof. Dr. Rolf-Markus Szeimies. The effectiveness and freedom from pain during exposure was also confirmed by a clinical study by Prof. Dr. Hans Michael Ockenfels (Hanau).

By using medisun PDT 1200, it is now possible to carry out painless PDT exposure in your practice throughout the year.

medisun PDT 1200 is equipped with a 3-axis adjustable lamp module. Small to medium-sized lesions (field cancerization) can be treated individually and homogeneously. Excellent therapy results are continuously achieved with excellent tolerability. Thanks to the programmable control, medisun PDT 1200 remains future-proof, regardless of which light spectrum will be important in the future. All medisun products are developed and produced in Brühl near Cologne.

The medisun systems are certified as medical products in accordance with Directive 93/42 / EEC by TÜV-Rheinland LGA Products GmbH.
